Grade Level: G1-6
The world’s oldest roller coaster dates back 1912 and still stands today in Luna Park, Melbourne. For the first week of EP Extreme Saturday STEAM class the students were able to engineer their own roller coaster track for a ping pong ball. The track is made up of simple and inexpensive materials such as straws and scotch tape. The students were able to design simple roller coasters as means of converting one form of energy to another and its relationship to the speed of the object.
